Real World at Home Dog Training!
Dear Jeff,
I am writing this to everyone hoping to reach and enlighten those who might be like me who think they can train their own dog, or who may think that Jeff is expense  and go elsewhere to train their dog or do it on their own and STILL their dog doesn't follow commands ALL the time.  Let me tell you my story.  I had heard about Jeff and Solid K9 from a teacher colleague of mine who raved about him about she brought her German Shepard to him.  I looked him up.  But I thought, I could do as well at puppy classes, after all, I have gone through this before, I have knowledge, I have good consistency, puppy school was only $130. for 8 classes (and we did two sessions totaling 16 classes) and I would commit to practicing at home.  Well, Shayna, at 6-10 months, was wonderful in school and that was it!!  She would never do anything anywhere else!  On a leash, she walked on 2 legs (that's upright pulling me)!  No matter how much work I did with her, and I thought I was very knowledgeable on this heel topic I could not get her to heel!  When It came to the COME command, she looked at me at the park and thought 'NO, I see someone at the other end of the park I haven't said hello to yet, I'll see you later' and she would return when SHE felt like it. Sit was solid and learned at 6 weeks but stay was never even kept for 3 seconds.  having guests in my house was a nightmare, as she was all over them, I never knew of the PLACE command.  Now understand, Shayna is a wonderful mellow Labradoodle who is very and loving.  She graduated top in her class and that was the only place she did her commands and more, agility training activities.
As the weather got nicer, and as Shayna was becoming 1 year old, I knew she needed some REAL training if we were going to enjoy SAFE time together.  I take her everywhere with me, but most importantly a dog MUST be trained properly to be safe for themselves.  I called Jeff and I did a 1 hour training for COME.  After only 15 minutes, Shayna was coming to me while at the hectic dog park, with distractions all around!  Well that was all I needed to see.  His gentle nature, his loving of what he does, his thorough knowledge of what he is doing, I was convinced that somehow I was going to send Shayna to BOOT CAMP,( his kennel home for intensive training) and whatever the cost, this was worth it.
Two weeks later, Shayna was in Boot Camp.  the facilities are great.  Kennels in all sizes for the varied dogs. Lots of room for the dogs.  Dogs for the dogs to enjoy playtime and used for distraction training (very important),  Personnel for their every need...grounds kept clean and even a POOL for the dogs to go swimming while Jeff or someone is the lifeguard!
Shayna returned a new dog. Jeff worked with me teaching me how to work with her so she maintains all that she has learned.   Shayna now walks on all fours!  She is fabulous when company comes over, she has a PLACE to go and she doesn't move, which means no food stealing, no jumping all over people or the sofa; she stays, she sits, etc. Shayna immediately followed my commands then gave me a look as if to say, "How is it you know to tell me these things, you're not Jeff, do I really have to listen to you?  I think not."  And sometimes she broke the commands and tested me, but with a simple correction and NO, Shayna was back on track and wagging her tail.
I will be traveling by plane to California this summer and I know that staying with my friends with be very easy because Shayna is so well mannered, more than before. I have never been one with an addictive personality, but now I am addicted to JEFF.  I can't wait to send her back....I just have to figure out what I can ask him to do next.
THANK YOU JEFF....and anyone can call me with any futher questions.......
