Housetraining
If you have just brought home a puppy or a dog who is having housetraining issues I can help you set up a program that will help your dog succeed with housetraining. This can be a very frustrating time for both dogs and their owners so with my helpful program you will find yourself and your dog much happier.
I offer a bringing home puppy training workshop which really helps your puppy fit into your home and family much easier.
Working with your Puppy-
what you do with your puppy from the minute you bring your puppy home makes a HUGE impact on the rest of its life, everything up until week 14 is very very important and week 12-14 can lead to a devasting life for you and your dog if you are not careful. So it is important that you start working with me even before you bring home your dog to make sure that you will have a dog that recognizes you as the pack leader and starts working for you to be the best dog that it can be.
The Basics-for dogs with no or limited amount of previous obedience training
I will work with you and your dog on Sit, Stay, Heel, Come, Down, Wait, Leave It and Place. Young puppies should have lots fo fun while doing this, they can think of training as a game at the start..something fun to do.
Beyond The Basics
I will work with you and your dog on a SOLID Sit, Stay, Heel Come, Down, Wait, Leave It,and Place. This is a high level of distraction work involved with this where your dog will stay in the command no matter what is going on around them. This is not someting that is done overnight and a good amount of practice is required.
Aggression Work (stopping your dogs aggression)
Having a dog that is aggressive is very frustrating, a lot of my clients are unable to take out their dogs on walks or to the park because they feel they cannot control them when they are out of the house or when people come over to the house. I require your dog to be involved with The Basics and Beyond the Basics while I am also working on Aggression work, having a strong obedience training program greatly helps eliminate most aggression issues. I have never met an aggressive dog that i could not work with, so please do not give up hope on your dog get some help, your dog is not going to grow out of it or by fixing your dog that does not always help. Your dog needs intervention and I possibly am the answer.
Bringing Home Baby- short video of me bringing home Romy
I come into your home and help you set up your house and show you how to work with your dog to get ready for your new arrival or if you already have a newborn or young child I will help you work with your dog on elimating and preventing aggression between your dog and child. This is a very popular class that I do in front of groups and I can do it for your group as well, you can contact me about how this works. This is a class that you should think about doing after the 12th week of pregnancy.
Languages
I can train your dog in the language that is the best for you and your family. English, German, French, Spanish, Czech or any other language that works for you.
Hand Signals
I can teach your dog to respond to hand signals, your dog will respond to commands by hand signals without using verbal commands.

Hand Signal step 1 for Sit from 20 ft Hand Signal Step 2 for Sit from 20 ft
Off-Leash
Your dog can be taught for off-leash work. Having your dog work off-leash builds great communication with you and your dog. Your dog will be put in real world sitiuations, this type of training takes some time. Your dog needs to know all of the commands and be SOLID with them.
Real World situations
The great thing about in home training is that we have the opportunity to go out in your neighborhood or drive to different training situations to work on training…by taking your dog to crowded areas, parks, ballfields, downtown areas, outside concerts, Waterfire, different ground covers, with advance training you need to get your dog out of the classroom and into the real world so you can work on distractions. All of our dogs will sit on command at home, but put into the equation cars, crowds of people, rescue vehicles etc. The HUGE success I have with SOLID commands is I take your dog out into the community almost every time I work with your dog…this is one of my great training techniques that create SOLID results. We can discuss real world situations that you and your dog will be doing and we will turn that into a training schedule. This way it will not be new for your dog and your dog will better understand what is expected of him/her. A great example of this: I have taken many clients dogs down to Waterfire in Providence. It is very crowded with tightly packed people and dogs, there is lots of noise and lots of different smells. Your dog should stay on your side at all times, if you are walking slow your dog should walk slow, if you stop to see the fire on the river, your dog should stop and sit and be patient etc...
I offer the most complete Real World distraction training in the industry. My base of over 24 real situations can be added to by whatever you want, I can work your dog in any situation you will want your dog to be in.
Training options
I can also work with your dog 1 on 1 without the dog owner. This sometimes works better at the start of training in order to introduce the concept of structured obedience for your dog. Once your dog knows the basics it is very easy to pass that knowledge off to you the owner and your dog acclimates to the commands given by you much easier. As long as you follow my advice and stick to the training that i set up for you, your dog will acclimate whatever i teach it into your life, it is important that you are consistant though with your commands.
Weekly Training
I also can take your dog for a few days or longer this way your dog can learn the proper way to behave in all situations, other dogs, children, crowds as well as other public places. This is recommended for dogs with past difficulties in training, once a nice baseline has been established it will be easier to work on 1 or 2 hours a week of training.
This training regiment will also include swimming, introduction to other dogs and children in proper way as well as reinforcing all of the basic commands; sit, stay, heel, down and come. I am not a boarding facility but I do have my house and yard set up to board a few dogs other than my own…keeping them separate from our dogs and family if necessary and the ability to acclimate them into a family and other dog situation which makes great training.
Monthly Training-Some of my customers are already working with another trainer, wether a school or an at home trainer and are not quite sure if they want to use me full time. What I do for these customers is give them homework to do that works around their current training in order to get the most out of the time they spend training their dog. Sure I would like my customers to work with me on my training style, but I also realize that as long as the customer is doingn obedience training this is good for the dog, and I also realize that eventually my clients like this move over to me since they really see that I fully understand the mind of the canine and my training works.
Dog Walking
I am not a dog walking service if that is all you are looking for there a many more affordable ways to have your dog walked. Though I do a lot of dog walking for my clients and the reason is that when we are walking we are training, we are working on proper heeling and sit/stays while we walk, I will walk your dog along with my 2 GSD and this will also build up proper behavior for your aggressive dogs. If you are concerned about your aggressive dog being with my dogs do not worry, your dog will not be aggressive while with me, I am the pack leader and your dog knows it. Your dog will behave during the walk and the long term affects will be great and quickly reduce the aggression in your dogs, my dogs also are used to being used as test subjects for aggressive dogs. I have clients that I work with that utilize me daily or 5 days a week to come to the house and take their dog for structured walks......because of the HUGE demand I have been getting for training ability for the walk and Heel i am offering a 3 or 5 day a week walk program..you can go to my rate page to get a better idea of what I do.
House sitting
I am not a house sitting service though a lot of my clients use me for this purpose along with training, I am fully insured and bonded as well as a member of Pet Sitters International and with being a homeowner as well as a parent to 6 children and 3 dogs I know exactly what your concerns are about traveling without your pets..and if you have dogs that are not exactly people friendly or don't do well in kennels I might be the person for you..i only offer this service at the moment to my training clients though. I email you on a daily basis with how the day went with your dog, I fully understand what your concerns are with being out of the house, i also travel occansionally and I have the same concerns as you do.

Resting at home after a long day of running around with 2 clients dogs and mine, NOTE: at the start of the day my dogs did not get along with my clients dogs, and vice versa, by the end of the day they do get along..not best friends but able to share space and all listen to me. My training philosophy makes sure that this will happen with your dogs as well
Boarding-I offer boarding at my onsite dog cottage on my property. Your dog spends most of the day in a home environment as well as 3 or 4 exercise sessions during each day incuding, play time and structured walks. Your dog will have their own sleeping quarters. Your dog will enjoy the same food and eating schedule that they have at home. If your dog is social your dog will be able to be social with the other dogs I have. In the months that my inground pool is open your dog has the possibility to enjoy pool camp.
Refresher Training
I encourage all of my clients to have some refresher training when needed. Keep in mind that after a while your dog will start to regress even on the most basic commands when you do not keep up with training. That is why I encourage constant training on every walk and each day in your house…do not be surprised when your dog goes back to not listening..just go over the basics with your dog…your dog will be thankful

Max, Uma, Coco and Harry (client) after a busy day outside.
Foster Care for Service Dogs
If you are a K9 Officer, S & R person, or any other Service dog and you need some help with boarding, I am able to help you. I realize sometimes you need to go to training without your dog or some event happens in your life that you need someone to take care of your K9 on a short term basis. I cut my rate in half for all working dogs as far as boarding is concerned. Your dog will be in a family setting if requested or I can have your dog in a kennel. I can can make sure your dog gets plenty of exercise and use the commands that you use in your training and work.
Travel
I am available to travel by vehicle or plane, if you require me to travel with my dog on a plane you can send your private plane to our local airport which is TF Greene (PVD) in Warwick Rhode Island. I will arrange transportation to the airport and I require airport pickup at the destination airport, sleeping accomodations can be discussed at time of booking, I will most likely bring my male GSD Max with me to work on distraction training with your dog. If I do not bring my dog I will either fly by your private plan or fly commerical. A 10 hour minimum over 2 days is required for this service as well as reimbursement for transportation and housing.
Party and Event Work
You are having a party or an event at your house for 5 or 500 people. You do not want to keep your dogs locked up, but you are afraid how they will behave while you have people at your house. I can work with your dog during the party. I will train your dog on how to behave around crowds. We will work on constant exercises as well as having down time during your event. I will be respectful of your guests who are afraid of dogs. This is not a quick fix training, no miracles will happen during your event, it is just one more real world training situation that I involve your dog in.
Dogs come into this world and dogs go out and when the time comes to go out I can assist you with the transportation to your Vet, this is a very emotional time for you and your family and if I can be of assistance I will be.
