Our Board & Train Programs are an intense lifestyle training program, twenty four hours a day, seven days a week at our training center. The programs are designed to give your dog a strong head start by removing bad habits, assuaging anxiety and fear issues, and putting a strong routine into place for both dog and owner.

In the Board & Train programs, your dog will be trained by our head trainer Jon, as well as trainers Brittney and Jordan.

The Solid K9 Training facility is highly secure, staffed 24 hours a day, and monitored by video surveillance and fire detection.


One Week Foundational Headstart Board and Train

Price: $1250

  • The above Board & Train price does NOT include the cost of an E-collar. If you need to purchase an E-collar, we are happy to provide an E-Collar Technologies E-collar on the first day of the Board & Train. The E-collar cost ranges from $199 to $329, depending on the model your dog needs.

We are so excited to introduce our One Week Foundational Headstart Board and Train program! This is a great option for those owners with dogs that need basic obedience training but do not exhibit serious behavioral issues that require our longer Board and Train programs. In our One Week Foundational Headstart program, we will offer continuous structure, leadership and guidance to your dog for seven consecutive days. Our training staff will focus on the time-consuming repetitions required in initial foundation work and E-collar conditioning that the average dog owner typically cannot fit into a busy schedule.In this program, your dog will learn the training basics, including the following skills and commands under light distractions.

  • Walk politely on leash with auto-sit
  • Sit with duration
  • Down with duration
  • Place with duration
  • Foundation recall work
  • Thresholds
  • Kennel Up
  • Waiting for Food
  • Introduction to and understanding of the E-collar

This program includes three hours of private one-on-one coaching with the dog’s owner. Ninety minutes of this training will take place on the day of pick-up and another 90-minute session will be scheduled within 30 days of pick-up. All training sessions take place at our training center in Providence, RI.During the coaching sessions, our training staff will provide the owner with the knowledge and skills required to continue the dog’s training. We will not only focus on the technical side of training but also on the leadership and state of mind aspects. We will teach the client how to troubleshoot any challenges that come up in the home and in the future.

Once this training program is completed, the dog is eligible to participate daycare, Group Walk and Board & Play services, only offered to established clients of Solid K9 Training. Owners and dogs that have completed this program are welcome to attend two of our Group Walks at no extra charge. All graduates of this program will also have the option of repeating the one week training program.

IMPORTANT
All Board and Train dogs must be picked up & dropped off by the client (owner).

Board & Train Refund Policy

Once accepted for the Board & Train program, you will receive a PayPal invoice from Solid K9 Training for the total Board & Train payment. The full payment is due in order to secure your dog’s reservation.

Three or Five Week Behavioral Modification Board and Train

Price: 

3 Weeks: $3,200

5 Weeks: $4,200

  • The above Board & Train prices do NOT include the cost of an e-collar. If you need to purchase an e-collar, we are happy to provide an Educator E-collar on the first day of Board & Train. The e-collar cost ranges from $199 to $329, depending on the model your dog needs.
  • Additional weeks are available at $600 per week, for 3 week and 5 week Board and Trains.

This program is designed for dogs that are exhibiting dog aggression, fear aggression, human aggression, fear issues, anxiety, separation anxiety, and biting.Using our low-level, communication-style remote collar training, dogs in the Behavioral Modification Board and Train will learn the following:

  • Walking properly on a leash without pulling, barking, lunging, sniffing, or reacting to dogs and/or distractions
  • Sit
  • Down
  • Place command
  • Recall training (with distractions)
  • Calm on Command training – having your dog be calm in all situations, without him/her having to be worn out with hours of walking/play time
  • Dog Aggression issues – attacking dogs, biting dogs, improper greeting and social skills
  • Separation Anxiety
  • High Anxiety/Fear and the residual issues from those states of mind – biting, growling, attacking humans and/or dogs
  • Human Aggression
  • Leadership skills with your dog so your dog understands proper pack order with humans
  • Eliminating bad behaviors – jumping up on people, jumping on countertops, mouthing, nipping, chasing, playing keep-away

All Board and Train programs include six hours of private one-on-one training. The six hours includes two,  two-hour training sessions at the completion of the program. You also receive two one-hour follow-up sessions to be scheduled at the owner’s and trainer’s discretion. All training sessions take place at our training center in Providence, RI.For clients who have completed our Board & Train program and are interested in further training opportunities, one-hour training sessions are available at $75 per hour.
