Our Board & Train Programs are an intense lifestyle training program, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week at our training center in Bradenton, FL. The programs are designed to give your dog a strong head start by removing bad habits, assuaging anxiety and fear issues, and putting a strong routine into place for both dog and owner.

The Solid K9 Training facility is highly secure, staffed 24 hours a day, and monitored by video surveillance, fire detection, smoke, heat and carbon detection.

4 Week Behavior Modification Board & Train

This program is designed for dogs that are NOT human or dog aggressive or that have high levels of fear and anxiety as that takes longer to work with.

All of our programs are as much about behavior rehabilitation, as they are about obedience commands. So many dogs are great at obedience, but they cannot hold a command around basic distractions. So many dogs have great obedience, but they do not have a calm state of mind. It is so important for us and the dog, that we are able to work with the dog on these issues.

The biggest thing we will work on is having a calmer dog that listens better and is not reactive to all of the environmental stimulants around your home and in the world. With that starting theory, we are able then train your dog on the obedience commands that you are looking for. We look at dog training as a lifestyle and not a series of tricks, our training and rehab program becomes part of your lifestyle.

As far as obedience we work on the following with your dog:

  • Walking properly on a leash without pulling, barking, lunging, sniffing, or reacting to dogs and/or distractions

  • Sit

  • Down

  • Place command

  • Correcting bad behaviors – jumping up on people, jumping on countertops, mouthing, nipping, chasing, playing keep-away

  • Recall training (with and without distractions)

  • Separation Anxiety (some separation issues need a longer program)

  • Crate Nonsense (barking, whining, etc.)

  • Heeling properly on leash and eliminating leash reactivity (some intense leash reactivity needs a longer program)

  • Building confidence with your dog so you get a better off well mannered dog.

  • Calm on Command training – having your dog be calm in all situations, without him/her having to be worn out with hours of walking/play time

  • Leadership skills with your dog so your dog understands proper pack order with humans, eliminating a lot of pushy behavior dogs have. This is also great for nervous fearful dogs.

  • Work with your dog on the anxiety and fear that is driving most unwanted behaviors

All Board and Train programs include six hours of private one-on-one training. The six hours include one, two-hour mid training session. One, two-hour training session at the completion of the program. You also receive one, two-hour follow-up sessions to be scheduled at the owner’s and trainer’s discretion. All training sessions take place at our training center in Bradenton, FL. For clients who have completed our Board & Train program and are interested in further training opportunities, one-hour training sessions are available at $75 per hour.

6 Week Board & Train – Obedience and Behavior Modification

We are extremely well known for working with extremely challenging dogs, in fact no dog has ever been turned away from our program because of a bad/dangerous/unwanted behavior. We deal with dogs who have massive separation anxiety, resource guarding, and a host of other issues. Working with challenging dogs is not like working on a simple obedience command. It is much more intense work, and it often and takes a much longer period of time to create new, patterned behaviors in your dog.

How far can your dog go in a longer program? We will take your dog as far as we can depending on its individual abilities. At a minimum, our goal is always to be able to get a dog to exist around human and dogs in real world situations. As far as how much interaction they can have, we will not know until we start working the dog. We will always give you an honest assessment during and after training of what your dog’s immediate limitations will be.

The great thing is when you follow through with our training program (you get 6 hours of 1/1 training with us) each day/week/month just keeps getting better.

Using our low-level, communication-style remote collar training, dogs in the Behavioral Modification Board and Train will learn the following:

AGGRESSIVE DOGS

This program is designed for dogs that are exhibiting intense dog aggression, fear aggression, human aggression, and biting (higher aggression prices). 

We do get dogs in that are truly aggressive, when that happens, we have to spend more time with the dog, sometimes having 2 or even 3 trainers working with the dog for the safety of the dog and the staff and it is extremely time consuming, stressful and physical demanding. That is our job though and we take it seriously, a lot of these dogs will not survive if we don’t make progress and don’t make them safer.

Because of that we have to have a special price for that, it has always been a 6 week board and train, but for true aggression (we can determine that on the phone, or sometimes owners don’t know as they have never been demanding on the dog, or always prevented the dog from biting, but it is just a matter of time that mistakes are made.

All Board and Train programs include six hours of private one-on-one training. The six hours include one, two-hour mid training session.
