To be honest, there isn’t a whole lot you can say to Jeff’s credit that hasn’t already been said by one of his satisfied clients – just look at the other testimonials on his site. At the risk of sounding incredibly redundant, here goes:
Enter Rodney – 60 pounds of pure energy in Boxer form. Not a mean or aggressive dog by any means but a sweet goofy dog that wouldn’t sit, jumped on anyone and everything, chewed and ate furniture or food on the counter when unsupervised, wouldn’t come in the house [especially before you had to leave] and was unable to be easily walked or jogged because of his pulling. In short – he had a serious lack of obedience training.
We finally decided that we needed help if we were ever going to have a dog that would be a tolerable member of the family. Searching online for local training, we came across Jeff’s website and were immediately impressed by the scope of services covered – as well as the myriad photos, lessons, videos, tips & tricks, the list goes on and on…
Perhaps what is most striking about Jeff is that you immediately realize that he has an immense love for both dogs and his career in making them family members; he simply has a way with dogs that you can’t force. During the first two hour session, we had already outlined a training plan based on our goals and Jeff’s help.
Now, 5 weeks into it, we can’t sing Jeff’s praises enough. The training is incredibly dog and owner specific; he will tailor it to your particular situation, family structure, or lifestyle. He makes it absolutely “real-world” as well; during every session we walk with Jeff and his dogs around our neighborhood so we can see how Rodney reacts to our training. We’re even going to have swimming lessons this summer! Yes, you’ll get homework [even written if you so desire] – but it’s absolutely tolerable, and, and we’ve learned, necessary if you want to achieve your training goals.
Now we can proudly say that Rodney sits, stays, heels, lays down, leaves it [food] and stays in his place on command. We can now walk or jog with ease, and are often stopped by neighbors who comment on the rapid turnaround in our dog. Even our 3 year old niece participates, and is delighted when Rodney shows her what he learned in “doggy school.” Rodney is the same old goofy dog – but now he knows who is in charge. Jeff trains the owners just as much as the dogs – we now know that we can train Rodney to do just about anything we want using Jeff’s methods on our own – but can always call him if we need him.
We are now well on our way to having an obedient dog, all thanks to Jeff. We’d recommend him a million times over!
