I can train your dog to respond to commands in English, German, French, Spanish, Czech or any other language that works for you and your family, or I can teach your dog to respond to hand signals so that you don't have to use verbal commands
I will customize a training plan for the specific needs of you and your dog. That training can include any of the following.

Jess, a former body builder and personal trainer, takes your dog on a 1-hour power walk of almost 4 miles, keeping your dog always in a proper heel without allowing it to react to distractions. Only dogs from the same household go on this walk, and each dog gets individual attention as Jess works on proper heeling.
Most dog trainers will not work with aggressive dogs because they do not understand how to work with them or are afraid of them. They'll tell you "Get rid of the dog," but what they really mean is "KILL the dog." I'm amazed that folks who call themselves dog trainers and behaviorists cannot work with simple or complex aggression issues.
I have no fear of any behavior by any dog, no matter what size or breed. I will never turn your dog down because of aggression issues. I have never met a dog I was not willing to work with
This does not mean your dog will never bite again. What it does mean is that I will do everything I can to make your dog the best it can be. If a trainer guarantees that your dog will not bite again, beware of that trainer, not the dog! If you use that trainer, let me know. I will bring some dogs to him as well!
Aggression rehab for your dog will work best with my "board and train" program. The dog needs to be immersed in my program - my stable pack, my family, my trainers - for me to effectively communicate with the dog how it is supposed to live in this world.
I firmly believe that a dog's owner can unintentionally promote aggression. If you have never stopped your dog's aggressive behavior, you've actually reinforced and encouraged it. Often too much affection - hugs, kisses and food rewards after bad behavior or when the dog does nothing - can lead to aggression. Another mistake is to always grab your dog and hold it back from lunging at someone who comes to your door. We actually use this method in Protection Training to train guard dogs to bite people. Even though you think you are keeping your dog from jumping on a guest, you are actually teaching your dog to lunge, bark, and eventually bite someone.
Remember, when your dog barks, lunges, and tries to bite me, I move toward your dog and not away. I don't back away from anything, and by using this approach, I can help you and your dog.
If you just brought home a puppy or have a dog who is having housetraining issues, I can help you through this very frustrating time. I'll set up a program that will help your dog succeed with housetraining and help both you and your dog be much happier. I also offer a "Bringing Home Puppy" training workshop to help your puppy fit into your home and family much more easily.
What you do with your puppy from the minute you bring it home has a HUGE impact on the rest of its life. Mistakes you make between weeks 8 and 16 of your dog's life can be devastating for you and your dog. It's important that you start working with me even before you bring your dog home. This early start will ensure that the dog recognizes you as the pack leader and starts working for you to be the best dog that it can be.
I come to your home, help you set up your house, and show you how to work with your dog to get ready for your new arrival. If you already have a newborn or young child, I help you work with your dog to prevent or eliminate aggression between your dog and child. I can do this training with you as an individual or present it as a class for any group you have. Contact me about how this very popular training works, and consider taking this training as early as the 12th week of pregnancy. For a preview, see the short video of me bringing home Romy
I believe that all dogs should be able to do off-leash work. You should be able to trust your dog to do what you want when you want it.
Such training takes time because your dog needs to know all of the commands and be SOLID with them.
But off-leash work builds great communication between you and your dog. In this training, your dog learns to respond to you appropriately without the restraint of a leash in real-world stressful situations.
I offer the most complete real-world distraction training in the industry. I use a base of 24 real-life experiences, but I add any situations you want your dog to experience. We take real-world situations that you and your dog will face and turn them into a training schedule. We take your dog out in your neighborhood to crowded areas with different terrain - parks, ball-fields, downtown streets, and outside concerts. We get your dog out of the classroom and into the real world so that you can work on distractions, such as traffic, crowds of people, rescue vehicles, and other animals.
I have HUGE success with SOLID commands that create SOLID results because I take your dog into the community for almost every training session. After this training, distractions will not be new for your dog, and your dog will understand better what behavior you expect. For example, we might take your dog to Waterfire in Providence, a very large outdoor event with tightly packed crowds of people and dogs, lots of noise, and many different smells. Your dog would learn to stay at your side at all times, to walk slowly when you walk slowly, and to stop, sit, and be patient when you stop to see the fire on the river.
Suppose you are having a party or an event at your house for 5 or 500 people. You do not want to keep your dog locked up, but you are afraid how it will behave while you have people at your house. I can work with your dog during the party to train your dog on how to behave around crowds. We will work on exercises and have down time during your event. I will be respectful of any of your guests who are afraid of dogs. This is not quick-fix training; no miracles will happen during your event. It is just one more real-world training situation that I use to train your dog.
Some dogs just don't do well at the veterinarian. For them it is a frightening and threatening experience, but I can help. I offer these services only to my existing clients.
