We came to Jeff in late winter 2011 to work with my wife & I in training our 3 dogs (Black Lab, St. Bernard & Mix). We always knew we had great dogs…they were well behaved and obedient (when they wanted to be). They went everywhere and did everything with us (even though we often struggled and found it difficult) – but they were a part of our family, so the struggle was always worth it! But at the end of the day, we knew that we needed some serious help. The standard ‘treat-training’ or indoor obedience training just wasn’t effective nor worth the time or money. The more we listed to Jeff’s radio show, the more he seemed like a strong fit for us. After attending one of his seminars I knew this was the route for our dogs and us.

I’ve had a handful of “problem dogs” growing up, and our dog trainers never seemed to have a lasting effect once they stepped foot out of the house. So when I got my Mini Bull Terrier “Beans”, I vowed I wanted to have a “normal dog” once and for all. I read over and over again how Mini Bull Terriers are “un-trainable” due to the stubborn terrier in them. Sure enough, I struggled for months as I attempted to walk him around the block – he’d just sit there, refusing to nudge. I even paid hundreds of dollars to a fancy dog trainer in NYC to come to my apartment and work with Beans. I found that once the trainer left, my dog would sense that training time was over and would refuse to follow the regimen which we had just spent hours going over.

Jeff, I can't thank you enough. After the two week "Board and Train", we now have the "new and improved Punkin". You work miracles with dogs. I can take her into a store, have her sit, and she stays there until I'm ready to leave. I can sit outside of Starbucks and have her sit and watch dogs go by without barking. The advantage of a well trained dog is HUGE for both you and the dog. Little dogs tend to be pampered and not necessarily well trained. Trust me. They need it too and we love Punkin even more now. She is a pleasure to be with and she goes with us everywhere without a worry...

We relocated to Providence the summer of 2007 with our husky, Storm. We had never had any formal training with her in Upstate NY and until we lived in a city environment, we didn’t realize how much we really needed some training and control of our energetic dog. I sit here on my back deck with my dog next to me. He is quiet, calm and incredibly affectionate. I know he is supposed to be in PLACE, but the opportunity to have him next to me on this beautiful morning was too great to miss, so I break the rules (again).

I did not grow up with dogs, as a matter of fact I didn't grow up with animals and the excuse in the house was that we were allergic, but in retrospect, my mother didn't like animals and I am sure that was part of it. The one time we actually had a dog, my mother wasn't too nice to it and he was fortunately given to my aunt who is a dog lover...    Alayne White

At around 9pm I was out for a run in my neighborhood with my two dogs, a yellow lab named Spinnaker and a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever- Moonbat. I live on a small island that consists of ½ reservation land. As I turned the corner to my street Spinnaker gave me a pull back and an alarming bark. A Coyote had come out of the woods and was staring at us not seeming to be threatened by my noise and the 2 dogs.

After establishing that it was not going to attack, I quickly commanded them in a heel and took off for the next street in an attempt to get back home. That coyote was 20 ft behind us for the mile run (did I mention my speed?) back to my house it followed us up my driveway. Good story? My point is that I was in command of my dogs, they did not veer from my command they kept pace with me...    Andrea & Family

I am writing this to everyone hoping to reach and enlighten those who might be like me who think they can train their own dog, or who may think that Jeff is expense and go elsewhere to train their dog or do it on their own and STILL their dog doesn't follow commands ALL the time. Let me tell you my story.

I have two large dogs. One is an Old English Bulldog at 80 pounds (Duncan) and the other is a Cane Corso, Presa Canario mix (Sophie). Sophie is just 7 months old, but weighs about 85 pounds.

I highly recommend Jeff Gellman for dog training as well as people training. He has changed my whole outlook on the way I am around my dog. My girlfriend who never had any animals her whole life now lives with a 70lb. pit-bull. Jeff has really helped us learn how to be the pack leader and enjoy the dog for what he is...A DOG.

Tess is a 1 & 1/2 year old chow, who I got as a 8 week old puppy. Unfortunately she had multiple medical problems. Instead of being properly socialized and obedience trained when she was a pup , she spent much of her time at vet offices and recovering from various surgeries.
