Today was another awesome day….if you have not talked to me about e-collar training yet..you might want to…2 of my clients today had great accomplishments with them.

Kelly who is a 6 month old BMD has been been doing great with obedience work….we started working with the recall with a long line and with about 10 minutes left in the session the owners asked how old the dog has to be before we do e-collar training…I said “we can do it right now” so I took off one of my dogs e-collars and put it on Kelly….and within 10 minutes Kelly was doing off leash recalls like a pro. Ten minutes doing perfect recall across the backyard with 4 other dogs in the yard…..

Kelly has turned into an incredible dog..a great player….a great greater and a well behaved and trained dog…at 6 months old..

Kelly thinking about trying to get the ball from Uma…but decided that she liked her face without half of it missing and just looks

Kelly doing a great Recall in the backyard

Roca getting some love from one of my clients kids….Roca does great with children…

Roca getting more and more love….

One of my clients has a dog that is deaf, Meatball is a great dog…how many of you have been at a field with your dog off leash and tried to get your dog to come to you from 50 yds away? You call your dog and it pretends not to hear you and it keeps on playing or it just runs away from you like a game…Well Meatball really can’t hear you….so how do we get Meatball to come…with my system of training which also involves an e-collar for this training exercise….the hand signal for Meatball to come is a raised hand over the handlers head…but how do you get him to look at you…..ahhhhhhh….an e-collar…so you give the ecollar a slight buzz which he feels on his neck…this makes Meatball stop what he is doing and look around….he then sees whose hand is up and runs to them…..within minutes we had him running to each of us in a triangle fashion…it was so heartwarming to see…..a beautiful sight…

Meatball coming to his owner…once he starts running to the person who has the arm up…she puts her arms out and  shows huge amount of visual excitement…..notice he also has a long line on him just in case we had to grab him quickly within a few days we will lose the long line .

there goes Meatball running to his owner…his owners are about 50 yds apart in an open field for this training exercise

This is what a happy Meatball looks like running to an owner….

yep thats Roca getting lots and lots of love…

so….since everyone keeps asking….both Romy and Clover are still very sick…they are getting better.. but still miserable and just hanging out all day…Linda is doing all of the hard work with them…and spends long days taking care of them while I work…thanks hon you are doing great and I love you for that….

My arm is okay…I did not go to the ER since I enjoy the pain….nothing that a bottle of peroxide cannot fix….I might have some bone issues..since the pain is isolated in specific places instead of a general area (i do remember something from my outdoor first responder training)…

if anyone want to stop by the Southern New England Womens Expo at the Crown Plaza in Warwick tomorrow Sunday the 3rd feel free. I am doing a mini seminar from 11-11:30 and will be in my booth all day…
