Thoughts of Hartford
After thinking about the weekend in Hartford and seeing so many dogs that were out in public behaving totally out of control I think it is even more important for everyone to realize how practical and effective my training methods are…a good example is the person at the Trade show that did a performance with her 2 dogs dancing with her….if you have seen someone dancing with there dog it is a wonderful choreographed routine with a dog weaving in and out of its handlers legs, moving forward/backward in synchronization etc….what appears to be a well trained dog…out of the ring though both dogs were dragging her around the trade show out of control…barking at everything..lunging towards everything…this can be said for a lot of dogs that do agility…in the ring they are appearing to be well trained…take them to an outdoor cafe and have them do a downstay and they cannot do one for any duration….
Most dog training places teach dog training so you will be on the agility track or rally track…so in a ring with food rewards your dog will do a great routine. Try to put that into place in your home or out in public and it does not work…I see this over and over again…almost all of my clients have tried that prior to me and realize that it is not working for REAL LIFE, I am not saying that your dog does not understand how to sit or down for a treat…what I am saying is that the technique is not applied to REAL LIFE, and why is it that they do not train your dog how to heel on a leash…it is the most important part of dog training…heeling on a leash….if you don’t walk your dog everyday properly, your dog will be confused as to the pack leader status of the family…
It is safe to say with my training program..i am dog owners first dog trainer or last dog trainer….once they discover my methods and my results dog owners don’t need anyone else….
If you want to see my methods and you don’t have the budget..you can meet me and learn my methods and the Bay Colony Pet Show
find out why I am the official dog obedience educator for the show, I will be doing dog training demos for 4 straight days…also selling tickets to my next live dog training event.
A great reason why we train the rock solid down/stay..this is at the Hartford show..took Molly and Uma out of the truck..downed them in the parking lot…lots of cars going by..lots of people and dogs going by and we had to unload them first to get to all of the trade show stuff…they did not move…thats why we train so hard…
Barkley and Bailey in Place and Downstay in the Treadmill room while Clover and Romy are being great distractions
Pete, who was diagnosed with bone cancer and had one of his legs removed, is doing well…he will be spending the rest of his life with us…Jessica has been doing an incredible job of taking care of him…she cooks every meal for him..she does canine massage and reiki on him…thank you Jessica for making the end of his life the best it can be…
