I am an abusive dog trainer
I often hear this about me from the folks on the other side of the training fence as me. When I ask them about what they mean by this statement they tell me that I punish dogs and I use prong collars. Okay…..so what is your point….lets break that down….I have never punished a dog in my life…none of my methods are punishment…none of my methods are punishment ever….
Prong collars are the most humane way to train a dog..they are not harsh at all…in the same breath these same folks will tell you to use head halters and choke chains which cause damage to dogs..this is a fact backed up by scientific data…there is not data that suggests that prong collars are harmful..also most of these people have never trained a dog at someones home. They all train dogs for in the training ring..they all train the dogs to pass a test by the AKC which is not a reflection of the real world. Most trainers do not understand the dynamic of a dog in a household…how do I know this, because I have been to a lot of these trainers 6 years ago…nothing they teach you will work in your house…and the proof is by talking to anyone that has taken a class at a training school….the dog does what you want for a treat in the classroom but as soon as it is out of the classroom it does not listen.
Anyone that has seen my methods would agree that it is the most effective way to train your dog for long lasting training….my 4 year old trains my dogs…….I also find it funny that I am often to hired to rehab and train dogs that have already been to other local trainers..what does this say about the state of dog training. It tells you that your clicker/treat/positive reinforcement training is NOT an effective way to train dogs for the household…if you truly want to unleash the true spirit in your dog you cannot train this way…I find it so funny that trainers love to spout to me that they have 20 years in the business, they have all these fancy letters after their names but yet they cannot walk a dog in a proper heel down the street….anytime a trainer wants to join me with my 10 dog pack on a 4 mile training walk down Blackstone Blvd…feel free to give me an email….
Yes I am in defense mode, the reason is because I have a HUGE audience to talk to…and after going to the AKC dog show event I realized how bad these dog shows are…I was shocked at the way that the dogs from some of these handlers are kept…no consideration for the comfort of the dogs at all…
Kishmish on the treadmill before we were kicked out of the show…
Keep in mind that the main reason we were kicked out of the show is because I was questioning how the dogs were kept in stacked cages as well as the fact that I saw them being hit/slapped and no one was doing anything about it…it was not because of my methods since I had not done a demonstration yet…
Pete gives me some of his healing energy…whenever I lie down on my back on the couch he always puts his head on my lower back which has so much stress…his energy helps heal me….yes I allow Pete on the couch…after having one of his legs removed to cancer he is allowed up on the couch…he does not have much time left and is slowly losing the battle with cancer…we allow him extra priveliges that we don’t allow other dogs…
