I am sitting in the Miriam Hospital Emergency room as I write this.

So….today was awesome..i brought up 5 dogs to Chace Farm in Lincoln and spent about 1.5 hours running the dogs around and swimming in the lake….the dogs were great..we worked on off leash recall with Topper, Tucker and Bella. Max and Uma are already excellent at it….so after a while…another person with a large breed dog came by the lake and all of the dogs went over to great the dog…she totally freaked out screaming…I screamed back to her to relax…my dogs do not hurt other dogs…they just want to say hello. She was very upset by all of this..as the dogs all got a sniff they got bored and went about her checking out other things…..we went back and forth yelling at each other about the situation..(yes unprofessional and immature)…I kept telling her that it was all okay and that it is a off leash park and her dogs and my dogs were both off leash and dogs meet…..so….I was screaming “Just stop and watch the dogs interact, enjoy the sunshine, enjoy the water, enjoy watching your dog actually play” I think it finally hit her….she calmed down..she told me her dog was scared…..i told her that he dog was not scared and you the human was scared….and it is better if we as humans just keep our mouths closed and watch what happens….she mentioned her dog was 11 years old…I mentioned that her dog should hang out with us more often and maybe she would feel younger…

We shook hands…we talked, we introduced each other….we talked about dogs…it ended on a positive note….I apologized for upsetting her…but not for what happened..since that is what is supposed to happen at dog parks…

Max and Uma running and running up and down he hills

Anyway on the way back to the van…about 100 yards away..i put all of the dogs on leashes…uma and bella were on a spliter leash and tucker and topper were on a splitter leash..and wouldn’t you know it..but bella and uma decide to fight….WTF….girl fight….they do this once and a while…so of course they are hooked up together which makes it worse so they cannot get away from each other….I hate putting my dogs on leashes just for this reason….they do much better off leash especially after being running around for so long…anyway….the fight sucked…I got them apart and one of my dogs decided to go after the other dog again and I moved the dog out of the way and and the dog bit my leg above the ankle…. I looked down and as the tooth was coming out of my skin I saw the white of my bone….bad dog bite..worst one so far…the size of a quarter and deep into the bone….

So I still had to break up the fight and all of the dogs were get excited..finally got the leashes off the dogs and got them separated…..at that time a guy came running up and asked if I needed any help….i yelled at him to stay away…I did not want anyone else involved in this…so…I limped back to the van..fell a couple of times feeling faint..i got all of the dogs into the van….took out my medical kit…put on a 4 X 4 gauze and taped it up tight to stop the bleeding….drove home…unloaded the dogs…made sure they did not have any bad bites…which of course they did not and then I drove myself to the ER…..after checking in and I was waiting in the waiting room..a bunch of emergencies come in..so I get backed up…losing feeling in my foot…at the moment..i cannot feel my foot and my lower leg is killing my……so…this is starting to not get fun…..meanwhile I have no problem with Bella and Uma…they are both intense dogs and get into scraps once and a while..they never actually hurt each other…just fight for the sake of fighting…I know that most people have a hard time with this..…I deal with dogs all day….I am immune to these issues and look at is a part of my work….no ones elses dogs were involved with this…

above isw a photo of my right leg above my ankle..the large wound goes straight to the bone..and on the other side is some other puncture wounds. and yes those skinny little thing is my leg not my arm…LOL

just a little boo boo to take my mind off that painful leg wound….

On another great note…I have a 6 month old Lab that will be ready for adoption in a couple of weeks…it is a female and she is fixed..and will no basic obedience commands.

Max the beagle is ready for adoption to a family without any children…

Pepsi the pitbull is ready for adoption….ironically Pepsi and Max could be adopted together..they get along great.

I have a lesson for everyone today as well..if you want better behaved dogs..stop loving them so much…and I am talking about the your face in their face oohing and ahhing type of love…they do fine without that..once your dog is obedience trained you can do so..but not until they are good with commands…

The fence company came today and almost finished off the chainlink part of the fence…a door or to that I added at the last minute need to be installed and then some other projects need to be taken care of …I also have hired someone to work the grounds for me…..he will keep the outside of the house immaculate…keep the pool area and the training grounds clean….all of the cement will be always powerwashed and disinfected as well as do the landscaping…I will be having an open house at the end of May for everyone to see the kennel and the property.

That is it for today…I came into the ER with a pain of about 7 on a 10 pt scale..it has been moved up to about a 9 at this point..i enjoy pain…it makes me feel like I am accomplishing things……they just finished cleaning up the wounds and I have to wait for Doctor….wow…..hot doctor…big shout out to Dr. Katherine..you took my pain away…or was it the Vicodin..anyway they leave the wound open…it is more apt to get infected if it is closed up…

Pictures from the last 2 days that I thought you would like…i have taken more pictures over the last 2 days than before..hundreds and hundreds..i will need to put a catalog of pictures together soon.

tucker and topper enjoying finding balls in the ocean

romy and max chilling on the pile….max is up for adoption again…max is a great dog..needs lots of exercise and would be great if he could be adopted with pepsi the pit bull..they get along great and run around together all day.

I am sitting in the Miriam Hospital Emergency room as I write this.
