energy that can be much stronger than our intentions&#8230;.Once Sara released her negative energy from her life her dog actually changed over night&#8230;.and this was going on for over 2 years&#8230;Sara became a strong pack leader and Kona recognized it and was much relieved&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"font-family: &quot;Trebuchet MS Bold&quot;;\">I had wanted a<br \/>\ndog for years, whenever I went hiking, there were people hiking with dogs,<br \/>\nwhenever I went running, there would be people running with dogs.<span style=\"\">&nbsp; <\/span>They all just looked so happy, I wanted<br \/>\nto join in the fun.<span style=\"\">&nbsp; <\/span>I knew I<br \/>\nwanted a high energy dog, a companion for marathon training, I just didn\u2019t<br \/>\nrealize what I had signed on for with Kona.<span style=\"\">&nbsp; <\/span>I had thought I could just tire her out \u2013 but eventually I<br \/>\nrealized there was more going on.<span style=\"\">&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/span>I could take her out for a fifteen mile run after which I would be ready<br \/>\nfor a nap, but there she would be, at the window barking furiously, protecting<br \/>\nme from the person walking down the street.<span style=\"\">&nbsp; <\/span>Something was not right. <o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Trebuchet MS Bold&quot;;\"><!--[if !supportEmptyParas]-->&nbsp;<!--[endif]--><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Trebuchet MS Bold&quot;;\">I honestly<br \/>\nthought it was something wrong with her, perhaps wiring gone awry.<span style=\"\">&nbsp; <\/span>I am a teacher and my students (more or<br \/>\nless) behave for me, so I decided Kona\u2019s issues had do with her.<span style=\"\">&nbsp; <\/span>After two years of Kona craziness \u2013 at<br \/>\nthe dog park, on walks, on hikes, in the house, in the car, you name the place,<br \/>\nshe would misbehave -\u2013 I became very tense around her, waiting for her to<br \/>\nexplode.<span style=\"\">&nbsp; <\/span>I knew my tension<br \/>\ncontributed to her behavior, but I truly thought that the her issues originated<br \/>\nwith her.<span style=\"\">&nbsp; <\/span>I needed someone to calm<br \/>\nher down so that she and I could start anew.<span style=\"\">&nbsp; <\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Trebuchet MS Bold&quot;;\"><!--[if !supportEmptyParas]-->&nbsp;<!--[endif]--><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Trebuchet MS Bold&quot;;\">Within 15<br \/>\nminutes Jeff had Kona sitting off leash in between Uma and Max.<span style=\"\">&nbsp; <\/span>I had tears in my eyes.<span style=\"\">&nbsp; <\/span>After he left, I immediately called and<br \/>\nemailed everyone I knew \u2013 no one believed me.<span style=\"\">&nbsp; <\/span>I was so excited to hang out with New Kona and show her off<br \/>\nto everyone who had witnessed her meltdowns that I took her everywhere, so much<br \/>\nmore confident that I had been in years.<span style=\"\">&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/span>I thought now everything would be okay: Jeff had imparted behavior<br \/>\nmanagement skills to me, I had seen her calm and now believed she could behave.<span style=\"\">&nbsp; <\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Trebuchet MS Bold&quot;;\"><!--[if !supportEmptyParas]-->&nbsp;<!--[endif]--><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Trebuchet MS Bold&quot;;\">Life never<br \/>\ngoes according to plan.<span style=\"\">&nbsp; <\/span>Walking<br \/>\nKona was better, I could take her into the dog park and watch her play with<br \/>\nstrange dogs, an occurrence I had not seen in years, but she still seemed<br \/>\nstressed out and still tried to protect me, which was never pretty.<span style=\"\">&nbsp; <\/span>One day a small glimmer of what was<br \/>\nwrong entered into my mind when Jeff was talking about how humans should behave<br \/>\naround a pack of dogs and how we transfer our energy to them with a simple<br \/>\ntouch.<span style=\"\">&nbsp; <\/span>I am skeptical of all<br \/>\nthings not supported by scientific evidence, but I began to doubt myself when I<br \/>\nsaw how calm dogs were around Jeff, maybe there was something to this energy<br \/>\nthing after all.<span style=\"\">&nbsp; <\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Trebuchet MS Bold&quot;;\"><!--[if !supportEmptyParas]-->&nbsp;<!--[endif]--><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Trebuchet MS Bold&quot;;\">Things came<br \/>\ncrashing into place when, very shortly after this doubt was raised in my mind,<br \/>\nI had some health issues resolved.<span style=\"\">&nbsp;<br \/>\n<\/span>I realized I had had tension inside of me that I was able to hide from<br \/>\nmyself, my husband, and my friends, but not my dog.<span style=\"\">&nbsp; <\/span>Kona had been absorbing my stress for years, had realized<br \/>\nhow vulnerable I was and acted accordingly.<span style=\"\">&nbsp; <\/span>When I was cognizant of the fact that I was calmer than I<br \/>\nhad been in years, I took what I had learned from Jeff and transferred new<br \/>\nenergy to her \u2013 the poor dog slept for two days straight when I told her it was<br \/>\nokay, she could relax now.<span style=\"\">&nbsp; <\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Trebuchet MS Bold&quot;;\"><!--[if !supportEmptyParas]-->&nbsp;<!--[endif]--><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family: &quot;Trebuchet MS Bold&quot;;\">Kona is still<br \/>\nhigh energy, I\u2019ll have to find another marathon to train for, but I can now<br \/>\ntake her places with the utmost confidence that she can and will
